A Solution for Hospitals: Introducing Room Pressure Monitoring Kits
Jackson Control has received several inquiries from Hospitals and customers who service Hospitals requesting a Room Pressure Monitoring Solution. Due to the current demand for this request, typical solution providers have a 3-4 month backlog of orders. Hospitals cannot wait this long.
Jackson Control has developed a solution from what we have in our warehouses and what we typically order from our vendors. This bulletin will outline the need for that solution, the solution itself and the associated costs.
NEED FOR THE SOLUTION:
For the most part, hospitals have the ability to redirect airflow within each facility to create the Negative pressure environments, but they do not currently have a way to validate the pressure within a given room or area and therefore have requested a visual indicator at the entry point(s) to these areas.
With the COVID-19 pandemic directly effecting every hospital in the country and the ease of which the virus transmits from person to person, it has become necessary for hospitals to create Negative pressure rooms throughout their facilities to try and contain the possibility of transferring the virus from patients rooms to common areas of the hospital.
THE SOLUTION:
The Jackson Control solution is to utilize a Honeywell Differential Pressure Sensor and an ACI Pick Up Port in conjunction with a Functional Devices transformer. The Honeywell P7650 has a selectable pressure range and is panel or wall mountable with an LCD readout display as the visual indicator and has an IP65/NEMA4 environmental Rating. It also has circuit protection built in to avoid damage due to incorrect wiring. This device can be used as a stand-alone visual indicator or it can be connected to a current or future BMS for automated alerts and notifications.
The ACI Pickup Port is a wall-mounted stainless steel plate pickup ports and is designed to be used in conjunction with any low differential pressure transmitter to provide an aesthetically pleasing building static reference point (pressure).
The Functional Devices transformer comes in different configurations and will allow power to be supplied to the P7650 by a wide range of voltage sources from 120v to 277v.
